Description

This is a new I.D as well , during our last workshop in the alps , near 'courmayeur' . I just love this clear september after a fresh snow fall ... It was very cold by the way ( - 10 °c ) !

I've used the 70-200 F4 IS L for this one.

My first impression of "September Light" was an immediate desire to inspect it in greater detail.

To have a photograph of mountains is nothing new; to have a photograph of a silhouette is nothing new - and yet, together, they come together to form an image that evokes emotion and thoughts that would otherwise never appear.

I really enjoy the clouds in this image, and how they've been used to the advantage of making the photographer in this 'pop': without such a screen (as it were), some of the effect of the silhouette would be lost, especially against a more visually complicated backdrop of a mountain with an incomplete cover of snow. Furthermore, the way the clouds cover parts of the mountain also seem to amplify that, as well - combined with the shadows, it creates a very dramatic image that, whilst being simple on some levels, has a lot of visual impact.
